Jaccard
This kitchen device is called a JACCARD. It will turn inexpensive, tough cuts of meat into tender delicious cuts of meat. You just lay the meat on a cutting board and press the spring loaded Jaccard on the meat, cutting razor sharp holes into the meat. I usually do 10 or so, turn the meat and then do 10 more. Marinate the meat in a sealable plastic bag with a little water, olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice & your favorite spices and presto. Cook as you normally do. As good as filet mignon!

Rival VS106 Seal A Meal Vacuum Sealer
This Rival vacuum sealer saves us hundreds of dollars every year and it is the most inexpensive, capable sealer on the market. We actually have no waste, plus we don't have to go to the grocery store as often. We'll buy fresh fish, when it is on sale, bring it home, cut it up in portions for two persons, vacuum seal it, date it and put in in the freezer. We will thaw it 6 -8 months from the date it was sealed and it is perfectly preserved. I like to have bagels with creme cheese & lox once in a while. The creme cheese & lox never get used up all at once; We'll put the creme cheese & lox in separate bags, seal them & put them back in the refrigerator and presto, 6 months later when I want creme cheese & lox again they are fresh as newly opened. We like to buy large blocks of cheese when they are on sale. After we open them up we just put them in a gallon bag, seal it up and the cheese is always fresh months later, time after time after time. This sealer can be purchased for the least at Walmart. We'll purchase some of the quart & gallon size sealer bags at the same time. You'll be set to preserve all your valuable food. The bags can be purchased on line for the least at Amazon. After you open a bag of sealed food that has been frozen or refrigerated, you just cut off the sealed area, this shortens the bag 1"; all you need to do to re-use this bag is put a little dish soap in the bag, shake it, rinse it, let it dry and it's ready to be used again. Following is a list of food that never spoils at our home if we use this vacuum sealer: Cheese, meats, all cooked left overs. I read some other reviews on seal a meals and I think those folks just don't get it. They say it was fun to do, but not something they would use every day. Hog wash; we use ours 6-8 times a day & preserve all the food we buy. The only thing seal a meal won't work on is liquids, lettuce & bread. If you want to vacuum seal breads , you need a more expensive model that allows you to stop the vacuum & seal the bag before all the air is taken away.
